If you love the look of chalk paint, but don't have the time or desire to do it yourself- I can help! Using chalk paint has completely transformed my house and home decor for the better and I'd love to help you do the same in your home.
I'm excited to announce that I am now offering my chalk paint services in the North Shore/Essex County, MA region. I myself am based in the Salem, MA area. Please continue on down the page for more information and the process and to see pictures of completed chalk paint pieces.
Feel free to contact me any time at Ali@AtHomeNE.com if you have any questions or are looking for more information.
To create a custom chalk paint piece, you'll first need a piece of furniture to paint. There are two options here. Either you already have a piece in your home that you'd like to use or you need me to help find the perfect piece at a flea market, yard sale, or antique shop. I will be happy to come get the piece from you to start work on it if you already have a piece in mind. I can also work with you to get a sense of what type of piece you're looking for and help track it down. Just let me know which option you'll be going with!
There are also many, many options when it comes to paint colors, distressing and style. I can't stress enough the beauty of Pinterest for this purpose. Find a piece on there that inspires you (try searching: Annie Sloan Chalk Paint furniture) and email me a picture. To help you get started, take a look at the chalk paint color wheel and start thinking about what color(s) you'd like to use. Keep in mind that chalk paint can be mixed together, so if you don't see a color you like, odds are we can make it for you.
Pricing will of course vary based on the size and scope of the project. A chalk paint sample pot is likely enough for a small nightstand or end table but a larger piece would call for a quart of paint. Price would also change based on how many colors you'd like to use in your piece. All pieces are finished with soft wax to protect it and whether you want to add dark wax for a more distressed look will be up to you. I will provide the painting supplies (paint brushes, wax brushes, painter's tape, cloth, sandpaper, etc.) If you want to add something special like new hardware or stenciling this would be extra.
Don't worry, all of this will be discussed in detail before starting any project.
- Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (Quart)- $38.95 +tax
- Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Sample Pot- $12.95 +tax
- Annie Sloan Soft Wax- $26.95 +tax
- Annie Sloan Dark Wax- $26.95 +tax
There will also be a charge for labor which we will discussed before starting your commissioned piece. Keep in mind that something such as a simple nightstand may take only 2 hours of work while a large cabinet or dresser with various painting techniques could take upwards of 20 hours.
Time frame will vary based on the size and scope of the project. If I also need to track down a piece of furniture to paint at a flea market/antique shop this will also some time. As chalk paint is sold through local stockists, getting supplies can also take time if a certain color is not in stock. All of this and more will be discussed before starting a piece.
If you have more questions or want to get started on your piece please email me at Ali@AtHomeNE.com.
Please feel free to attach any pictures of the piece you'd like painted and ideas of what you'd like done (Pinterest is a great tool for this). That way I can provide you with an estimate right away! I look forward to hearing from you and working with you.
